CSAYL - Monochromatic Colours

Hi there!
This week's challenge over at CSAYL is to use only monochromatic colours on your cards and the winner this week will have the chance to be a guest designer in September.

For my card I turned to one of my all time favourite stamp sets - Wings Of Joy from Taylored Expressions. Red is also my favourite colour so I decided to go different shades of red to create my monochromatic look:

I used white for my base and Berry Sorbet for my mat. The image was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with my R22, R24, R27 and R29 copics to create varying shades of red. Some Dazzling Diamonds glitter was added to the image as well. I scored two lines at the top and bottom of the card and added a strip of Scor-Tape which was then sprinkled with glitter. Finally I used my new Eyelet Lace border die to cut a strip from Berry Sorbet card.

On the insde I stamped a sentiment from Wings of Joy in Tuxedo Black ink along with the snowflake images on either side. I finished off my colouring these with copics.

You have until next Thursday to link up your card so be sure to check out the CSAYL blog to see the rest of the design team's work for some inspiration.

Colour Create Challenge #78

Hi there!
It's my turn to pick the colours over at the Colour Create blog this week and I decided to go with one of my all time fave combos - Kraft, Red and White with the optional extra of adding your own stamped background. Here is my inspiration pic:

25 Aug - Challenge 78 - Kerry

Here is my card:

I had a lot of fun making this card. I first used some Pure Poppy card, scoring about 1 inch iin from one end and using my Apron Lace border punch along the edge. I then attached some Stampers Select white to the scalloped end of my Pure Poppy card to create my card front. I used a flower and dot from Beautiful Blooms ll set to create my stamped background, using Real Red ink. My sentiment from Inside and Out: Birthday was stamped in Crumb Cake (Kraft) ink and then I tied some white ribbon across the front, attaching a red button to the centre of my bow with twine. I stamped three large flowers in Real Red ink and cut these out, attaching to the ribbon with a silver rhinestone in each centre. I used my Little Leaves die to cut a leaf from Kraft cardstock and tucked this behind my flowers. Finally I rounded the corners of my card front to finish.

On the inside I repeated my flower background along the bottom of my white layer and added my sentiment again in Crumb Cake ink.

The rest of the design team have come up with some wonderful cards, so take a look at the Colour Create blog and be sure to link up your entry!!

Colour Create Challenge #77

I'm back with my card for this fortnight's Colour Create challenge. My card is very late due to my really bad bout of the flu, but as I had nearly finished my card, I decided to post it anyway. Here is the inspiration pic for this fortnight's challenge:

11 Aug - Challenge 77 - Liz blue, green,white,red and brown
Liz has come up with a lovely colour combo - red, green, brown, blue and white with the option of adding texture. This is what I have created:

As soon as I saw this colour combo, I instantly thought of my Green Tea Leaves paper which has all of these colours incorporated. I cut three strips of paper and adhered them to my white layer which had been embossed with my Argyle Impression plate. I added some Chocolate Chip ribbon along the join. I stamped my sentiment from Inside and Out: Birthday in Chocolate Chip ink and die cut it with my circle nestabilities.  I then matted this layer on some Old Olive cardstock cut with my Blossoms 4 die. Below the sentiment I stamped the two tiny leaf images from the Mat Stack 1 Collection in Old Olive ink and added a red rhinestone to the centre.

Have a great weekend!

CSAYL - Non Traditional

Hi its time for this week's CSAYL challenge which is to go Non-Tradional and not use any green or red. This week's challenge is sponsored by A Perfect Presentation and the winner will receive one free template of their choice.
 Perfect Presentation

I decided to use the Squared template to create a simple Christmas decoration:

I found it really hard to photograph this project and it looks much better in real life! I printed the Squared template 4 times onto Very Vanilla cardstock. On each of the boxes once constructed I added a pink mat to each side. I stamped my background onto Very Vanilla squares using Background Basics: Botanicals in Pretty in Pink ink and Melon Mambo ink. These squares were then added to the pink mats. I added my letters to spell Xmas and added some vanilla snowflakes which had been coated with glitter. Some random pink rhinestones were also added to finish off the blocks.

Make sure you have a look at all the other lovely creations over at the CSAYL blog and link up your project for your chance to win this week's prize!

CSAYL- Inspiration Photo

Hi everyone,
Sorry it has been such a long time between posts - I woke up on Sunday morning with a terrible headache and I soon realised that I had come down with the flu! I then have been off work for the last 4 days, totally out of it and only today have been right to go back. What a horrible experience - it really knocked me about and I just had no energy to create any cards! I missed yesterday's Colour Create Challenge, but I do have that card nearly made, so I will still post it over the weekend.

Anyway today it's Friday, so I do have a card to share for this week's CSAYL challenge. This week is a fun week - we have an inspiration photo and the challenge is to use this to create your card. The winner of the challenge will get the chance to be a guest designer for a week in September. Here's the pic:

Here's my creation:

I used Snow Swirled by Stampin' Up for all my stamping. I randomly stamped my pastel snowflakes on white card, adding a silver rhinestone to the centre of each. The sentiment was stamped using Smokey Shadow ink and then the whole layer was embossed with my Linen impression plate. I adhered this layer to some Lemon Zest cardstock before mounting onto my white base. To finish off the front, I used my glue pen to run a thin line of glue around the edge and dipped the sides in Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

The inside uses another sentiment from Snow Swirled stamped in Smokey Shadow ink and then the layer was embossed again with my Linen impresssion plate before mounting on Lemon Zest cardstock and adhering to the inside.

Have a look over at the CSAYL blog and check out the other designers' cards. Be sure to link up your creation for your chance to be a guest designer in September! Don't forget, there are only 19 weeks till Christmas, so  now is a great time to start your Christmas stash!!

CSAYL - Gimme The Bird!

Hi there!
Its time for another CSAYL challenge and this week the challenge is to use a bird image on your card/creation. This week's sponsor is the fabulous Pink Cat Studio:

View PCS_Spons...jpg in slide show

The winner will receive 5 free digis of their choice! I was stumped on this challenge, but fortunately Pink Cat Studio has some fab bird images and I chose to work with Birds Make Christmas Cupcake stamp:

I printed my image on Very Vanilla cardstock and coloured it in with Copics. I added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter to the icing, hats and at the bottom of the cake. This layer was then matted on some Kraft cardstock. The sentiment is a free download from PCS and I tucked this in behind. I used a layer of Kaisercraft Joyful DP and sewed this onto some Kraft cardstock. I used both sides of Cheerful DP for my pink and green layers, scalloping the bottom of my pink strip and sewing them together.  Finally I tied around some twill ribbon and attached a blue button in the centre. All the layers were then added to my Certainly Celery card base.

On the inside I used another free sentiment download from PCSand finished off with matching DP.

This week Sally is our guest designer. Check her blog out here.
The rest of the team have some wonderful creations. Make sure you hop on over to the CSAYL blog and link up your creation at the same time!
