CSAYL - The Whole Sha-Bang!

Its challenge time again over at CSAYL and this week the sponsor is A Perfect Presentation:

The winner of this week's challenge will be able to choose a free template of their choice. What's the challenge you ask?? Well this week is quite a challenge - to make a package and matching card and gift tag!! I chose to work with Uptown Takeout for my package. Here are all my creations together:

First my Uptown Takeout package:

I printed my template on to white cardstock and then used some retired Dashing SU paper for my decorative mats. I also punched two holes in the top of my package with my Cropadile. The ribbon wrapped around the centre and tied through the top is Scarlet Jewel. I used the stamp set A Rhonna Christmas by Autumn Leaves for all of my stamping on these projects and stamped 'Tis The Season in Chocolate Chip ink. I then cut out the sentiment and mounted on the front of my package with dimensionals. Finally I added a small snowflake from my stash.

Next is my matching card:

I used white for my main layer and stamped Seasons Greetings in Scarlet Jewel ink. The strip down the side consists of some Chocolate Chip cardstock edged with my Apron Lace border punch and some more Dashing DP with Scarlet Jewel ribbon to finish off. The Christmas trees were stamped in Versamark and then Chocolate Chip ink and then heated with Heat and Stick Powder and glitter added. Each tree was cut out and then mounted on the card front with dimensionals.

Finally, here is my simple gift tag:

I stamped the To/From sentiment with tree in Chocolate Chip ink and then mounted this layer on to some Dashing paper and a base of white cardstock. I punched a hole in the top with my Cropadile and thread through some Scarlet Jewel ribbon.

This was quite a challenge, but I really enjoyed creating this set. Why not have a go yourself - hop on over to the CSAYL blog, link up your creation and be in the running for a free template from A Perfect Presentation - their templates are fabulous! Also have a look at the team's creations while you are there!

AnnaBelle Sketch Challenge ABSC040

Hi,
I am here with my last post as part of the AnnaBelle Stamps DT. I have really enjoyed working on this wonderful team with such a lovely group of talented designers but my commitments both at work and with my children have increased to the point where I have found it difficult to keep up each week. I will miss working with these ladies so much, but I will be participating in challenges at every opportunity. Thanks Andrea for giving me this great opportunity to work with your fabulous stamps!!

This month's sketch challenge is below:

absc040

I chose to work with an image from Mother's Day Bouquet as it fits the circle element perfectly:

I stamped the vase on some retired Berry Bliss paper and coloured the roses with Copics. After die cutting around the image with my circle nesties, I stamped the roses again and adhered them to the main image. I used some Purely Pomegranate ribbon, tucking it under my image. This was layered on a panel of more Berry Bliss paper matted with Chocolate Chip cardstock. Some pearls were added around the top of my circle.

The base for my card was made with Pink Pirouhette cardstock, cutting the front smaller than the back and edging it with my Scallop border punch. Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Acacia in Chocolate Chip ink.

To finish the inside I scallop edged some pale pink Berry Bliss DP and some Chocolate Chip card. Another layer of Berry Bliss DP was added along the right hand side. Again the sentiment stamped in Chocolate Chip ink is from Acacia.

Colour Create #76 - Pink, Green and White

Hi,
Its the start of another fortnightly challenge over at Colour Create and this time we have this gorgeous pic for inspiration by Julie below:

28 July - Challenge 76 - Julie - Pink White Green

The colours to use are pink, green and white with an optional extra of cooking. Well I don't have anything along the cooking line, so I just worked with these fabulous colours instead.

I have used my MFT Being Cute Is What I Do stamp in Tuxedo Black ink and then ran the white layer through my Cuttlebug with my Linen impression plate. I then coloured her with Copics and paper pieced her dress. The sentiment from Birthday Balloon Jolinne has been stamped in Old Olive ink and then I have hand stitched some AnnaBelle Stamps pink striped ribbon to create a ruched strip.

The scallop strip was made by using some green polka dot paper and edging it with my Scallop border punch. I attached it behind my main layer with Scor-Tape, leaving a little tape showing, on which I have sprinkled some glitter. I have also added some glitter to her hair and the flower on her shirt. Finally all of this was mounted on some foam dimensional tape and adhered to my white base.

The girls over at Colour Create have created some beautiful cards, so check them out here, have a look at this week's fabulours prize and link up your card at the same time!!

I am also entering this card in this week's Cardabilities challenge which is to use Sketch #35:

Case Study #49 and CR84FN34

Hi,
Just a quick post to show you a card I have created for two challenges. The first is Case Study #49 and the inspiration for this challenge is this beautiful card by Dawn Woleslagle:

The second challenge is CR84FN colour challenge with these gorgeous colours:
Here is my creation:

I created my base from Kraft cardstock and added a layer of Lemon Zest. I created my background using Papertrey's grid cardstock and my Guidelines 2  background stamp set with Melon Mambo ink and Pretty In Pink ink. I stamped my umbrella image from Up, Up and Away onto a small square panel and stamped it again in Melon Mambo ink, popping it up on dimensionals. I die cut two clouds from Lemon Zest cardstock with my cloud die and embossed them with my Linen impression plate.  The sentiment was stamped in Kraft ink, cut into a banner and then the tiny flower image from Up, Up and Away was stamped in Pretty In Pink ink with a silver rhinestone attached. This panel was then adhered to a Kraft border and raised on foam tape with some Lemon Zest ribbon attached underneath.

I had so much fun with both of these challenges as the colours were divine and I LOVE stamping my own backgrounds!

CSAYL - All About You

Hi again,
Okay ready for another Christmas challenge?? This week at the CSAYL blog the challenge is All About You - use your favourite colour as the main colour on your holiday card or project. This week's challenge is sponsored by Amber Ink and the winner will receive $15 in-store credit to spend!

View Amber Ink...jpg in slide show

My favourite colour without a doubt is red, so I made this the main focus of my card:

I chose to work with Amber Ink's You're The Perfect Package set - it is fabulous as there are so many different images you can use to create exactly what you need.

I coloured the girl with Copics and then used my white gel pen to add spots to the present.  I then matted this onto some Real Red cardstock and used my slot punch to create a small slit in the top left.  I then matted some Kaisercraft Fun Fair DP on to some Whisper White cardstock and added this to my Real Red base. Finally I tied some white ribbon around the card, sliding it under my main panel, but out through the slit at the top. I actually created the tag by printing out the tag image from the set, but then cut some off to create the right size for my card. (I could have resized it, but didn't realise until I had printed it out). The sentiment has been stamped in Tuxedo Black ink.

The inside uses a sentiment from the set and I also adhered another present image along with bow. To finish off the inside, I added a strip of red cardstock and some more DP.

Voila - nice and easy, but I am happy with the result.  Now take a look over at the CSAYL blog to see what other wonderful creations the rest of the team have come up with! Don't forget to link your creation for your chance to win this week's prize from Amber Ink!

Say It In Red, Cream and Chocolate!

say_it_in_red_cream_choc

Hello again and happy Friday!!! My favourite day of the week!! This week the challenge colours over at AnnaBelle Stamps are red, cream and chocolate - a gorgeous colour combo!! Here is my card:

I started my stamping my Lil' Michelle with Teddy in Tuxedo Black ink on Very Vanilla cardstock and then coloured her in with copics. Her shirt was stamped on some red DP and then cut out and paper pieced. I added some cross stitching near her feet to ground my image using some linen thread. The border down the side was created by using a strip of retired Bella Rose DP and edging it with my Upper Crest border punch. Another strip of DP was added along with some Chocolate ribbon. I stamped my sentiment from All Things Grow in Chocolate Chip ink on a tiny tag die cut and adhered this behind my cream crochet flower and finished off with a red button in the flower centre which I attached with the thread left over after crocheting.

I followed the same recipe on the inside, stamping another sentiment from All Things Grow in Chocolate Chip ink and cross stitching underneath. Some more strips of ribbon and DP were added along the side.

blog_hop_banner
Hi everyone,
Its time for another AnnaBelle Stamps Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Patti's blog. If not, begin your hop over at the AnnaBelle Stamps blog to start and see all the gorgeous creations! This fortnight we are showcasing All Things Grow:

fronds_6x4_wmark
This is a really beautiful set to work with, so I really had fun experimenting with this card (and my new camera!!):

I started by scoring a line across my main panel and then stamping one of the images repeatedly with Crumb Cake ink. I then stamped the Happy Birthday sentiment in Versamark and Tuxedo Black ink and heat embossed with clear powder. Beside this I stamped one of the butterfly images in Real Red ink and carefully used my craft knife to cut along one side of his wings to give them a little lift. I sprinkled some glitter along the wings and also on the edge of the cut section. This panel was finished off by adding some more glitter with Scor Tape just below my scored line and then I matted it on to some True Black cardstock. I wrapped some red AnnaBelle ribbon around my cream card base twice and then adhered my main panel on top.

On the inside I stamped another sentiment from All Things Grow in Tuxedo Black ink and added a strip of ribbon and a line of glitter along the bottom, before mattiing on some more True Black cardstock. Finally I stamped the same butterfly in Crumb Cake ink, adhering this to my ribbon with Scor Tape.

CSAYL - Feelin' Sketchy

Hello,
Hope you have all had a great week - I am back at work now so life around here is busy, busy, busy! How about a sketch challenge? This week the challenge over at CSAYL is to create a card following the sketch below:
The winner of this week's challenge will have a chance to be a Guest Designer in August. Sorry about my image quality - I had trouble trying to take the blur out of the sketch picture, but hopefully you get the idea :). Here is my take on the sketch:

The image was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink using an image from Taylored Expressions' Wings Of Joy  set and coloured in with my Copics. I also stamped the birds a second time, cutting them out and popping them up on dimensionals. I added glitter for the snow and stamped the sentiment in Melon Mambo ink, matting this layer on some Rose Red card.

I used some De Lovely DP for my strip across the middle, using two scalloped borders cut from Aqua Mist cardstock as a mat. Some pink ribbon was adhered across the middle and some Kaisercraft pearls were added underneath the bottom scallop. All of this was then attached to some Whisper White card and attached to my Aqua Mist card base. A final scallop from Aqua Mist was added along the top.

To continue the same theme into the inside of the card, I added some more De Lovely paper which was edged with  my scallop punch and a thin strip of Aqua Mist card. The bird image also from Wings of Joy was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink and coloured with my Copics and the sentiment stamped in Melon Mambo ink.

This week we have guest designer Linda joining us - make sure you check out her lovely creation along with all of our other designers over at the CSAYL blog.

Have a great weekend!
